Response of fungal communities to fire in a subtropical peatland

چکیده

Wildfire, an increasing disturbance in peatlands, could dramatically change carbon stocks and reshape plant/microbial communities, with long-lasting effects on peatland functions. Soil fungi are important controlling the belowground nutrient cycling peatlands; however, impact of altered fire regimes these is still unclear. We assessed fungal abundance, composition, diversity across four soil depths (0–5 cm, 6–10 11–15 16–20 cm) under low-severity high-severity a subtropical southeastern USA. Low-severity significantly increased Shannon saprotrophic 0–5 cm layer immediately after then retracted within 2 years. This pattern was not observed below 5 soils. The dominant class ? Archaeorhizomycetes declined initially returned to pre-low-severity fires levels at depths. Time since primary driver composition 0–10 depth, while spatial distance among sites affected deeper soils (11–20 cm). failed recover unburned state even 30 years fire, especially 6–20 layers. Bacterial and Fungal Communities in a Degraded Ombrotrophic Peatland Undergoing Natural and Managed Re-Vegetation

The UK hosts 15-19% of global upland ombrotrophic (rain fed) peatlands that are estimated to store 3.2 billion tonnes of carbon and represent a critical upland habitat with regard to biodiversity and ecosystem services provision. Net production is dependent on an imbalance between growth of peat-forming Sphagnum mosses and microbial decomposition by microorganisms that are limited by cold, acid...

Fungal communities in sediments of subtropical Chinese seas as estimated by DNA metabarcoding

Ribosomal RNA internal transcribed spacer-1 (ITS1) metabarcoding was used to investigate the distribution patterns of fungal communities and the factors influencing these patterns in subtropical Chinese seas, including the southern and northern Yellow Sea and the Bohai Sea. These seas were found to harbor high levels of fungal diversity, with 816 operational taxonomic units (OTUs) that span 130...

a frame semantic approach to the study of translating cultural scripts in salingers franny and zooey

the frame semantic theory is a nascent approach in the area of translation studies which goes beyond the linguistic barriers and helps us to incorporate cognitive and cultural factors to the study of translation. based on rojos analytical model (2002b), which centered in the frames or knowledge structures activated in the text, the present research explores the various translation problems that...
